Perhaps even brilliant
Don’t write anybody off. Everyone is good, wait, perhaps even brilliant, at something. Don’t let the prevailing culture dictate how you treat people. Appreciate people. See what it will do for them! Ask nicely, say thank-you. Smile. Let someone else through the door first. Care. Love someone.

Christmas
I remember waking up early on a sunny and warm Christmas morning, hearing the birds whistling with excitement, as if they also felt the joy we were experiencing.
My brother and I would run through to the lounge, our vision still blurred as we woke up. Under the lit Christmas tree would sit our presents. Guessing would now cease, as we dived in and opened our gifts.

No need for food or TV, the pure excitement and glee brought about by Christmas and the gifts was enough to keep us entertained. Those were the days when little things were big things, and big things were small things.
A lot has changed since then. We don’t celebrate Christmas like we used too. It’s not the same. Grown up, desensitized, and uninterested is the new order of they day. I can’t blame it on anything, it’s part of life.
I do wish I could rekindle that childlike joy, and often-times I do. When I hear exceptional music, or see the beautiful sunset over the mountain. When a friend encourages me, or when I have the opportunity to bless others. In those times, I experience that pure, innocent, and undeniable joy that you can’t explain, but you know it’s there. I want to find more of these moments in life.
May you experience joy this Christmas by looking to the One who gave us the greatest gift: His life. May you come to see that life can be lived to the full. And may you rest in the peace and love of family and friends.
